本标准规定了电气装置的电压区段。 本标准适用于标称电压为1500V（包括1500V）以下的直流电气装置和电源频率为60Hz及以下，标称电压为1000V（包括1000V）以下的交流电气装置。
本标准主要用来与电气装置的其它标准结合使用，但在制定电气设备的要求时也能使用。

【摘要】:1.ThisBritishStandardspecifiestherequirementsfor'Pren'typecablesforaircraftwiringofcircuitswherethepotentialbetweenconductors,orbetweenaconductorandmetalbraidortheaircraftstructuredocsnotexceed600volts(r.m.s.)involtageand1600c/sinfrequency;alsowhereanycombinationofambienttemperatureandconductorcurrentforcontinuousservicedoesnotpro-duceastabilizedconductortemperatureinexcessof90℃.Thesecablesarcsuitableforfixedwiringinaircraftwhenlowtemperatures(……75℃)arcencountered,butarenotsuitableforsevereflexingbelow……40℃.ThecablesdonotsupportcombustionbuttheyshouldnotberegardedascomplyingwiththerequirementsofBritishStandardG.100,Generalrequirementsforelectricalequipmentandindicatinginstrumentsforaircraftinregardtofireresistance.Thecablesareunsuitableforusewithoutadditionalprotectioninareaswhereester-basedfluidsarepresent.Thegenericname'Pren'shallbeappliedonlytocablescoveredbythisBritishStandardandcomplyingwithallrequirementsofthespecification.Thestandardincludesthefollowingfourrangesofcables,thecompletenomenclatureofwhichisgiveninAppendixA:—.a.Pren.Cablewithacopperconductorandaninsulationofglassbraidandpolychioroprenecom-pound,forsinglecorecables:multi-corecableshaveanoverallfinishofglassbraidandlacquer:theconductoroftheUniflexprencableisofabraidedconstructionwhichshallnotbeonastringcentre.b.Prenal.SimilartothePrenrangebutwithaconductorofaluminiuminsteadofcopper.c.Prenmet.SimilartothePrenrangebutwiththeadditionofametalbraid.d.Prensheath.Multi-corePrencablessheathedwithapolychioroprenecompoundinplaceofthelacqueredglassbraid.
