【摘要】:Thistestmethodestablishestheshort-timehydraulicfailurepressureofthermoplasticorreinforcedthermosettingresinpipe,tubing,orfittings.Dataobtainedbythistestmethodareofuseonlyinpredictingthebehaviorofpipe,tubing,andfittingsunderconditionsoftemperature,time,methodofloading,andhoopstresssimilartothoseusedintheactualtest.Theyaregenerallynotindicativeofthelong-termstrengthofthermoplasticorreinforcedthermosettingresinpipe,tubing,andfittings.Procurementspecificationsutilizingthistestmethodmaystipulateaminimumandmaximumtimeforfailureotherthanthe60to70slistedin9.1.3.Eithertheinternalhydraulicpressureorthehoopstressmaybelistedintherequirements.Note18212;Manythermoplasticsgivesignificantlydifferentburststrengthsdependingonthetimetofailure.Forinstance,significantdifferenceshavebeenobservedbetweenfailuretimesof65and85s.Thistestmethodisalsousedasashort-termpressurizationvalidationprocedure,wherethespecimensarepressurizedtoapredeterminedminimumpressurerequirement.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheresistanceofeitherthermoplasticorreinforcedthermosettingresinpipe,tubing,orfittingstohydraulicpresssureinashorttimeperiod.ProcedureAisusedtodetermineburstpressureofaspecimenifthemodeoffailureistobedetermined.ProcedureBisusedtodeterminethataspecimencomplieswithaminimumburstrequirement.1.2Thistestmethodissuitableforestablishinglaboratorytestingrequirementsforqualitycontrolpurposesorforprocurementspecifications.1.3Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityofwhoeverusesthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
