【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoverstestsinwhichsolidspecimensareerodedorotherwisedamagedbyrepeateddiscreteimpactsofliquiddropsorjets.Amongthecollateralformsofdamageconsideredaredegradationofopticalpropertiesofwindowmaterials,andpenetration,separation,ordestructionofcoatings.Theobjectiveofthetestsmaybetodeterminetheresistancetoerosionorotherdamageofthematerialsorcoatingsundertest,ortoinvestigatethedamagemechanismsandtheeffectoftestvariables.Becauseofthespecializednatureofthesetestsandthedesireinmanycasestosimulatetosomedegreetheexpectedserviceenvironment,thepromulgationofamethodisnotdeemedpracticable.Thispracticegivesguidanceinsettingupatest,andspecifiestestandanalysisproceduresandreportingrequirementsthatcanbefollowedevenwithquitewidelydifferingmaterials,testfacilities,andtestconditions.Italsoprovidesastandardizedscaleoferosionresistancenumbersapplicabletometalsandotherstructuralmaterials.Itserves,tosomedegree,asatutorialonliquidimpingementerosion.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsinparenthesesareprovidedforinformation.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
