【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardcoversthefollowingaspectsoffiretesting:—selectionofappropriatetest(s);—listingofreaction-to-firecharacteristicswhichthetest(s)canmeasure;—assessmentofthetest(s)fortheirsuitabilityformaterialcharacterization,qualitycontrol,pre-selectionand/orend-producttesting;—problemsthatcanarisewhenplasticsspecimensaretestedinstandardfiretests.Particularattentionisgiventotheprovisionofguidanceforinexperienceduserswhomayneedtoassessthefireperformanceofmaterialsorproductsmadeof,orincorporating,plastics.ThisInternationalStandardalsoprovidesanswerstofrequentlyaskedquestionsconcerningstandardfiretests;thesecoverfactorssuchascost,testduration,complexity,requiredoperatorskills,qualityofthedataproduced,relevancetofirehazardassessmentaswellastestrepeatabilityandreproducibility.PreparationofthisInternationalStandardhasinvolvedareviewandassessmentofthemostfrequentlyusedfiretestsappliedtothematerialsandproductswithinthescopeofISO/TC61/SC4.ThemainfocusinthisInternationalStandardisonreaction-to-firetesting.Fire-resistancetestinghasalsobeenconsidered,however,inordertotakeaccountofthewidespreaduseofadvancedpolymercompositesandrelatedmaterialswithsuperiorthermo-mechanicalstabilitywhichmaybeusedinapplicationswherethereisademandforsomedegreeoffireresistance.Furtherdevelopmentofsuchplasticscompositesandrelatedproductswillpredictablyincreasethedemandforfire-resistancetesting.ThescopeofthisInternationalStandarddoesnotincludethedevelopmentordesignoffiretestsforplastics.
